About Big Fish Boating
Big Fish Boating is built by a Long Island boater and angler, docked at Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai, to solve a problem that generic fishing content doesn't: knowing real conditions, real gear, and real costs for the specific inlets and bays we actually fish and boat on.
We started with six Long Island locations — Cedar Beach/Mount Sinai, Port Jefferson, Captree, Moriches, Shinnecock, and Montauk — pulling live tide, wind, and marine forecast data directly from NOAA, the National Weather Service, and NDBC buoys, plus building the first real cost breakdown for winter boat storage and winterization on the Island.
Everything here is built the same way: verify with a primary source, disclose how we make money, and never fabricate a catch report, a review, or a price.
How we make money
Big Fish Boating earns revenue through affiliate commissions on gear we link to, lead-generation fees from local marine service partners, and (in the future) memberships and merchandise. We disclose every one of these relationships on the pages where they apply.
